The Latvian Australian communities are celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Latvian migration into South Australia and the 100th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Latvia.
Dnister is proud to have been a platinum sponsor of this wonderful and significant commemoration, under the auspices of the 57th Australian Latvian Arts Festival that was held on the 26th to 31st December 2018 in Adelaide.
The Festival ‘From Riga to Adelaide’ included a world class line up of fantastic events that showcased the many facets of rich Latvian culture. The festival welcomed local musicians and singers, folk dancers, choir singers, fine art artists and professional performers from Latvia such as, Riga Technical University Male Choir ‘Gaudeamus’, Folk Ensemble ‘Rotala’ and rock group “Brainstorm’. Latvia’s Minister of Culture, Dace Melbarde, also attended and took part in the massed choir concert.
Festival attendees had the opportunity to enter Dnister’s competition to win 1 of 10 $50 vouchers and speak to our staff members from Melbourne and Sydney, Angelika Petersons and Marika Mccue, who were very happy to see many members at the event! Our Deputy Chair, Bohdan Wojewidka and Community and Business Development Officer Angelika Petersons were delighted to have attended the grand New Years Eve Gala.
We would like to thank everyone for visiting us during their time in Adelaide and for completing our survey to enter our promotion!
