This way, your actual card details are never shared with the store during a transaction, adding an extra layer of security.

To use Google Pay, your device must be running on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher, and support near-field communication (NFC) and host card emulation (HCE) technology. When you add your card to Google Pay, you are required to verify it to help protect your account.  There are two verification methods. This can be done via a OTP or by calling Dnister.

The verification process will require you to request a OTP (one time password) which will be sent via SMS to the mobile number we have stored under your membership; to enter into the Google Pay app. This completes the verification process for Google Pay. Alternatively, if you do not see the option to request a OTP, this could be due to a number of reasons and a simple call to our Member Services Team will get this sorted.

When you add a card to Google Pay, a virtual account number is created in place of your actual card account number. This virtual account number is used when you make a payment or receive a refund, ensuring that your actual card account number isn’t shared with the merchant and doesn’t appear on the receipt. This is part of Google Pay’s security measures to protect your information.

Each time you add a card to Google Pay, a new virtual account number is created. If you’re using Google Pay to obtain a refund, you may need to provide the last 4 digits of the virtual card number. You can find this number on the card details screen in your Google Wallet app. This process helps maintain the security of your transactions while making the refund process smooth and efficient.
