Dnister held its 57th Annual General Meeting on Sunday 6 November 2016 at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Hall in Essendon. The meeting was well attended by Members including representatives from the Latvian community. We were pleased to welcome our new Latvian members to their first AGM following the legal merger of Latvian Australian Credit Co-operative Society Ltd with Dnister effective 1 September 2016.
The main items of business were the approval by Members of the reappointments of Wal Mykytenko, Michael Kornitschuk and Natalya Jurcheshin as Directors.
”Dnister is financially strong and prudentially sound. Our total assets have continued to grow, reaching $153m as at 30 June 2016 and now standing at over $167m with the inclusion of Latvian” said Chairman, Wal Mykytenko. “Our membership is also growing and now exceeds 7,500. Considerable time and effort was allocated to two significant projects during the year, which were the Latvian merger with Dnister and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Embassy of Ukraine. Both projects are of strategic importance to Dnister and will assist us to grow our business into the future”.
