Dnister is proud to have been a major sponsor of the 59th Australian Latvian Arts Festival “Everyone Together under the One Sun!”. The festival is a bi-annual event that unites not just the Australian Latvian community but also the Latvian community from around the world.
The festival had an exciting, vibrant, and action-packed program which included folk dancing ensembles, choirs, chamber music, theatre performances, a short film competition and screening, a seminar on Latvia’s history, culture, and politics, a masterclass in crown-making and an art exhibition. The feature attractions included visiting artists from Latvia – folk group “Jora”, ethno pop group “Tautumeitas”, virtuoso kokle (plucked string instrument) artist Laima Jansone, conductor Ivars Cinkuss and crown maker Brigita Strods.
The festival attendees had the opportunity to speak to our staff members from Melbourne and Sydney – Angelika Petersons, Marika McCue, Dom Cafari, Iryna Malayko and Ivanka Bernyk and go in for a chance to win a $500.00 Dnister Visa Debit Card. Congratulations to our lucky winner – Ilmars Kaiva.
Dnister congratulates the festival’s organising committee, led by Peters and Susan Darzins, on delivering a successful festival. We are honoured to have participated in such a significant event, celebrating Latvian culture alongside the Latvian community in Australia.
