This year’s Pako Festa returned in full flight after a few years of smaller low- key celebrations. The event is a true celebration of multicultural diversity and has been running for over 41 yrs.
The festival features activities for all ages with, live performances, food, and art all on display from countries from all corners of the world for visitors and locals to enjoy.
One of the highlights of the day is the parade that features floats from participating nationalities decorated in their national costumes meandering down Pakington Street to the sounds of international music and dancing.
The Ukrainian Community once again participated in the event with a large group featured in the parade as well as two stalls selling handmade traditional gifts and Ukrainian food.
Dnister supported the Geelong Ukrainian community by providing 200 sunflowers for the participants to carry and distribute during the parade. In addition, Dnister also provided tap and go facilities for the craft and food stalls to assist with contactless purchases and carry bags for everyone to take their purchases home in style!
Thanks you to Luba Pryslak from Cultura for reaching out, and congratulations to all who participated in the event that truly brings the community together to celebrate our vibrant cultural diversity.
