Details | Volodymyr Vyatrovych is the director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory (since 2014) and was in 2008-2010 director of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) Archive (2008-2010), which incorporates the archives of the security services of the Ukrainian SSR. Mr Vyatrovych defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation in Ukrainian history at Lviv University in 2004.
He is the author, among other monographs, of The Second Polish-Ukrainian War 1942-1947 (2011), The Standpoint of the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists Toward Jews: The Shaping of a Policy in the Context of a Catastrophe (2006), and a series of studies titled History Stamped “Secret” (2011-2014), based on archival materials in previously secret Soviet security service archives. Volodymyr Vyatrovych’s books have addressed some of the most contested and divisive issues of Ukrainian wartime and post-war history. |
