Dear Members,
As we prepare this eMember, I’ve been reflecting on the beginning of a new financial year and my recollections of many wonderful times over my nearly 7 years with Dnister. What strikes me the most is the realisation that it’s the little things we do that make a big difference. A friendly face, a smile, being called by your name. A real person that knows your face, listens to your needs, speaks your language, and can do what you need to be done – and even, occasionally, to correct what isn’t quite right. A person supported by our team, so there are always people who can help you. Local decision making that takes account of your particular circumstances, that genuinely wants to help you, in good times and in not so good times. Someone and something you can rely on. That’s what motivates us day in and day out – we exist to support you and your community. We are a business, but we are owned by you, and are part of your community. We always strive to act in your best interests with respect, honesty and trust.
It’s therefore not surprising that the characteristics we display and strive to improve on are the very characteristics of our community itself. We could not have a better role model.
Of course, we must also have the basics right – a great range of products and services, competitive rates and fees, and fast turnaround times from application to funding. We will continue to develop our range of products and services, as we have with initiatives such as fast payments, banking App and Visa debit. Being competitive doesn’t always mean we are the cheapest, but we do believe that we give excellent value for what you pay. It’s a changing world and we will continue to evolve with it.
There will be challenges – we don’t always get it right, and we can always do more. But we are up for the challenge and are excited to be on that journey with you. Thank you for your business and for allowing us to be a part of your community.
Strength in unity!
